During my studies, I explored spread design through projects that combined layout, typography, and imagery. This section highlights my work in editorial and publication design.
Experimental Book
March 2025
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
This experimental booklet explores the visionary architecture of Friedensreich Hundertwasser through an unconventional accordion format. Inspired by his embrace of irregularity and nature, I incorporated wavy lines, organic shapes, vibrant colors, and transparent film elements to reflect his bold artistic style. The design moves beyond standard spread layouts, creating a tactile and immersive experience that invites readers to engage with Hundertwasser’s philosophy in a hands-on, visually dynamic way.
Artist Magazine
December 2023
Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop
For this magazine spread, I featured photographer Patty Carroll and her “Anonymous Woman” series, which critiques the way society defines women through domestic roles. Carroll’s vibrant, staged scenes—where the subject’s identity is hidden—guided my design choices. I selected an earth-toned palette to complement her work, chose images that best represented her range, and arranged them to create visual flow across the spreads. The layouts maintain an organic feel, with design elements extending seamlessly across both pages to unify the composition.
Layout Experimentation
December 2023
Adobe InDesign
For this class assignment, I was given a photo featuring a pencil and measuring tape and tasked with creating a dynamic layout to accompany it. I focused on balancing typography and imagery to create visual interest while maintaining a clear hierarchy. The final design uses bold type treatments and strategic placement of elements to draw attention to the theme of precision, aligning with the imagery’s subject matter.
